Working with Projects
For Employers publishing work, and Freelancers applying to it.
Creating a Project
An Employer publishes a Project with:
- a title and description of the work;
- a category and subcategory (Freelance Club organizes work into a structured set of categories);
- a budget range.
Once published, the Project appears in the public Projects catalog and Freelancers can submit Proposals.
Proposals
A Freelancer submits a Proposal to express interest and (typically) a price or approach. The Employer reviews submitted Proposals and accepts one — accepting a Proposal creates an Order between that Employer and Freelancer.
Accepting Offers
Only the Employer who published the Project can accept a Proposal for it. Accepting creates the Order and moves the engagement into the funding stage.
Milestones
Larger Projects can be broken into milestones, each with its own amount. A milestone moves through its own lifecycle: funded → the Freelancer submits delivery → the Employer approves (releasing that milestone's escrowed funds) or requests a revision. A rejected delivery can be revised and resubmitted — work isn't lost just because the first submission needed changes.
Project Lifecycle
At a high level: published → Proposal accepted (Order created) → funded → in progress → delivery submitted → approved or revision requested → completed. A dispute can be opened at points where there's a live, funded engagement.
Completion
A Project (or its final milestone) completes when the Employer approves the delivered work, releasing the escrowed funds to the Freelancer (minus the platform service fee).
Cancellation
An unfunded Order (before escrow is committed) can generally be cancelled without financial consequence. Cancelling a funded Order is more constrained — once milestones have been submitted or approved, cancellation is handled through the same rule-based mechanism as refunds, not as a unilateral withdrawal by either party.
