Wallet Security

  • Seed phrase. Whoever has your seed phrase has your wallet — full stop. Never type it into a website, never send it to anyone (including "support"), and never store it in plain text on a device connected to the internet.
  • Hardware wallets. Using a hardware wallet for significant funds adds a real layer of protection, since transactions must be physically confirmed on the device.
  • Wallet permissions. When a site asks your wallet to approve a connection or a token allowance, read what's actually being requested. Approving unlimited spending permission to an app you don't fully trust is a common way funds are lost — it doesn't require your seed phrase at all.
  • Transaction verification. Before confirming any transaction, check the destination address and amount shown in your wallet's own confirmation screen, not just what a website tells you it should be.
