Wallets
Do I need a crypto wallet to use Freelance Club? Yes. Sign-in works only through a connected wallet (MetaMask or a WalletConnect-compatible wallet) — there is no email/password option.
Does connecting my wallet cost anything? No. Signing in is a free signature, not a blockchain transaction. You only pay network gas fees when you actually send a transaction (for example, funding an order).
Can I use more than one wallet? Each wallet address is its own account today. Linking multiple wallets to one account is not currently available.
Escrow
Who holds my funds while an order is in progress? Funds committed to an order are reserved under fixed order-fulfillment and dispute-resolution rules, not held at the platform's discretion. Today this reservation is enforced by the platform's own rules-based accounting system; an Escrow smart contract on the BNB Smart Chain is implemented and deployed and can fully settle an order on-chain once enabled, with identical rules either way.
When are funds released? When the work is approved (for a whole order or a milestone), the escrowed amount is released to the freelancer, minus the platform service fee. If an order is cancelled before funding, or a dispute resolves in the employer's favor, funds are refunded instead.
AI
Does an AI decide who wins a dispute? No. AI performs a structured evaluation of submitted evidence — it is one input to a deterministic Rule Engine that applies fixed rules to reach a decision. The AI's output alone is never treated as a final ruling.
Does AI review my content before it's published? Content and service/project listings go through moderation triage that includes AI assistance, alongside human review for anything flagged. AI does not have unchecked final say over publication.
Disputes
What happens if I disagree with the other party? Either side can open a dispute on the order. Evidence is submitted, an AI structured evaluation runs, and a deterministic Rule Engine reaches a decision — most standard disputes resolve this way, without a staff member deciding case by case.
Can a person override the automatic decision? Only in narrow, named exceptional cases: a court order, confirmed fraud, a protocol failure, or a critical security incident. Ordinary disagreement about the quality or scope of work is not one of these exceptions.
Is a dispute decision the same as a legal ruling? No. Resolving a dispute over a specific order is a marketplace mechanism, separate from any legal dispute a User might have with the Company over the Terms of Service themselves — the latter is handled through a separate process (informal negotiation, then CeCAP arbitration in Panama), never through the order-dispute flow.
Payments
What currency are orders paid in? USDT (a stablecoin). Fees for subscription plans are also priced in USDT.
Are payments reversible? Blockchain transactions are generally irreversible once confirmed. Refunds happen through the platform's own order/dispute logic (returning escrowed funds), not by reversing a blockchain transaction after the fact.
Commissions
What does Freelance Club charge? A platform service fee is applied automatically when an order's funds are released — currently configured at a default percentage that may be adjusted from time to time; the exact current rate is shown in the Interface at the time of the transaction, not fixed permanently in this document.
Are there separate subscription plans? Yes — freelancer and employer plans with different limits and features, priced in USDT, shown on the public Pricing page. A subscription fee is separate from the per-order service fee.
Trust Score
What is Trust Score based on? An automatic calculation from signals like wallet age, completed orders, dispute history, and platform activity — plus, where provided, GitHub, LinkedIn, or company domain/website. It's computed, not self-declared, and it isn't the same thing as Identity Verification.
Verification
What are the differences between Identity Verification and Business Verification? Identity Verification (Not Verified / Pending / Verified) applies to any User and is handled by Sumsub, our current identity-verification provider. Business Verification is employer-specific, based on company domain, website, and professional-network signals, shown as a "Verified Business" badge. Neither implies the other.
Is there a fixed dollar amount that triggers verification? No fixed number is published. Verification may be required based on legal requirements, transaction or cumulative-volume patterns, sanctions screening, fraud indicators, or other risk signals — these are operational controls the Company can adjust, not a fixed public threshold.
Deposits
What is a Security Deposit? An optional amount you can commit as Financial Assurance — a signal of your own commitment, separate from and not a substitute for Identity Verification or Business Verification. Related concept: an Escrow Deposit, tied to a specific order rather than your account generally.
Security
How do I keep my account secure? Your wallet is your account — protect your seed phrase and private key the same way you would protect the keys to a bank vault; Freelance Club never asks for either.
Blockchain
Which network does Freelance Club use? BNB Smart Chain. The default configuration during platform is the public Testnet; mainnet activation and broader multichain support are on the roadmap, not live today.
Gas Fees
Who pays network gas fees? You do, for transactions you initiate (for example, funding an order on-chain once that path is live). Gas costs are set by the network itself, not by Freelance Club, and vary with network congestion.
Refunds
How do refunds work? If an order is cancelled before it's funded, or a dispute resolves in the employer's favor, escrowed funds are returned to the employer through the same deterministic mechanism that releases funds to freelancers.
Reputation
Does a bad review destroy my account? Reputation on Freelance Club is built from multiple independent signals (Trust Score, verification statuses, dispute history) rather than a single review score, so no single event defines your standing.
Moderation
Who reviews published content and listings? A mix of AI-assisted triage and human review, depending on what's flagged.
Privacy
What happens to data recorded on the blockchain? It may be public, permanent, and outside Freelance Club's ability to alter or delete — this is true of any blockchain, not specific to this platform.
AML/KYC
Why might I be asked to verify my identity? For legal compliance, sanctions screening, anti-money-laundering controls, or fraud prevention — not as a blanket requirement for every User.
Does Freelance Club check sanctions lists? Yes, with reference to the OFAC, EU, UK, and UN sanctions frameworks — Freelance Club does not publish its own country list.
