How to Start

Freelance Club is a wallet-based marketplace: you sign in with a crypto wallet instead of an email and password. Here is what that means in practice.

1. Connect a wallet

Click Sign in and connect a supported wallet — currently MetaMask or any WalletConnect-compatible wallet. If you don't have a wallet yet, you'll need to install one first.

You'll be asked to sign a message to prove you own the wallet. This is a signature, not a transaction — it does not cost gas and does not move any funds. Freelance Club never asks for your seed phrase or private key, and never could: the platform only ever sees your public wallet address and the signature you approve.

2. Choose your role: Freelancer or Employer

When you sign in for the first time, you choose whether you're joining as a:

  • Freelancer — you offer services and apply to projects.
  • Employer — you publish projects and hire freelancers.

You can hold either role; some accounts use both over time, but a given profile is set up as one or the other so the interface can show you the right tools.

3. Set up your profile

Add a display name, a short description, and — if relevant — links such as your GitHub or LinkedIn profile, or your company website and domain. These signals feed into your Wallet Trust score and, for employers, your Business Verification status. None of this is mandatory to start browsing, but a more complete profile makes other Users more confident working with you.

4. Understand verification, at a glance

Freelance Club uses four separate trust signals rather than a single "level":

  • Wallet Trust — computed automatically from your wallet age, order history, and activity.
  • Identity Verification — a status (Not Verified / Pending / Verified) from our identity-verification process via Sumsub. Not required to browse; may be required before certain actions, depending on risk and legal requirements.
  • Business Verification — for employers, based on signals like a company domain, website, and LinkedIn presence; shown as a "Verified Business" badge.
  • Financial Assurance — an optional deposit (for example, a Security Deposit) some Users choose to commit as an extra signal of commitment.

5. Find work or publish work

  • Freelancers: browse Projects and Services categories, or search directly. Submit a Proposal to a Project you're a good fit for.
  • Employers: publish a Project describing the work you need, or browse Freelancer profiles and Services directly.
