Data Analyst — Reporting & Dashboards
I work in data analysis for small and mid-size businesses — collecting and cleaning data from various sources, building dashboards, ongoing reporting on key metrics. I work in Python (pandas) for processing large datasets, and in Power BI or Google Data Studio for visualization — the tool choice depends on what the client can comfortably maintain themselves after handoff. I don't start with charts, I start with a question: what decision is the business actually going to make based on this data — because a dashboard with twenty pretty widgets that doesn't make clear what to do next doesn't help anyone. I work with data from Google Sheets, CRM systems, and simple SQL databases, and I set up automatic report refresh wherever possible so the client isn't rebuilding a spreadsheet by hand every week. I check data for anomalies and explain findings in plain language, without overusing statistical terminology where it isn't needed. I don't build machine learning models — that's a related but separate data-science specialization. A typical project is a data audit plus one working dashboard, five to seven working days.
