Illustrator — Characters & Editorial Art
I draw by hand in Procreate and refine in Adobe Illustrator when a clean, scalable vector is needed. I specialize in a friendly, slightly cartoonish style — onboarding characters for apps, blog covers, illustrations for educational materials. Before freelancing, I spent seven years as a staff illustrator at a small children's publishing house, so I'm used to keeping a character's style consistent across dozens of spreads — that's the difference between drawing one nice picture and building a series where the character is recognizable on every page. Before starting, I always do one rough sketch for approval of pose and mood — it's cheaper to redo a sketch than to repaint a finished illustration. I work in a fully original style of my own, or I can match a style the client already set for an ongoing series. I don't take on realistic portraiture or generative NFT collections — that's a different technique, and I'd rather be upfront than take on everything indiscriminately. Average turnaround for one illustration is three to four days with one revision round.
