I've integrated AI APIs into products for 7 years, mostly OpenAI/Anthropic-style APIs, for small businesses adding a specific AI feature rather than rebuilding around it. I handle prompt design, cost/rate-limit management, and fallback behavior when a model call fails. I don't train custom models from scratch — I work with existing hosted APIs and fine-tuning where it's the right tool. I'm upfront about what AI can't reliably do yet, rather than overselling it.
